"Let's Get to Know Each Other" events on a map: see which countries were the people from who conducted 45 workshops
During two years, from November 2019 to November 2021, Estonian Refugee Council and Siin & Sääl organized together with partners as part of the "Let's get to know each other" project a total of 45 events all over Estonia, where foreigners living in Estonia (including beneficiaries of international protection) and locals met. The aim of the meetings is to increase the sense of unity of local communities and the openness to people with migrant backgrounds and, in turn, their active participation in community events. Foreigners from a total of 24 different countries, starting from Afghanistan and ending with for example Indonesia, Russia and Nepal, cooked their national dishes together with locals, taught dances and music, and conducted various workshops.
A total of approximately 1,700 people attended the events.
The activities were funded by the European Union through the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund and the Ministry of the Interior.
